Under the shadow of the dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral, an event of Wine, Food, Italian food culture and networking is opening its doors to UK food & wine trade and specialised press.

On Monday May 30th, from 10am to 8pm, at the Leonardo Royal Hotel St. Pauls 10 Godliman St, London EC4V 5AJ, the UK Sommelier Association, I Love Italian Food and the Federazione Italiana Cuochi UK are organising a one day event where Italian Wine and Food will be the stars. On that day, two competitions sponsored by two excellences of the Italian wine and food world, will highlight the schedule. 

The UK Sommelier Association is presenting The Best UK Sommelier – Villa Sandi Award, where sommeliers will be engaged in different challenges and they will be judged by a panel comprising journalists, Master of Wine, Master Sommelier and other experts related to the wine world who will crown the winner as the Best Sommelier in UK. In the evening, the UK Sommelier Association will also take the stage for its annual Graduation Ceremony.

The Federazione Italiana Cuochi UK is organising the first edition of The Best Chef of Italian Cuisine – Parmigiano Reggiano Award. Six chefs, who have been selected after two previous phases, will have one hour to prepare a ‘main course’ with at least 5 elements. At the end of the hour, a jury of top chefs of Italian cuisine will taste and vote on the dishes prepared by the contestants and decide the winner of the competition.

I Love Italian Food will bring together Italian producers and protection consortia under The Italian Show, for the first time in London, to promote the made in Italy supply chains in the United Kingdom. Training classes dedicated to authentic Italian excellence, storytelling and product tastings, networking with local professionals.

During the day it will also be possible to take part in wine Masterclasses guided by the UK Sommelier Association, Cooking Classes organised by I Love Italian Food and the Federazione Italiana Cuochi UK on Italian products using ingredients from the participated sponsors, led by the finest local chefs of Italian cuisine. There will also be Mixology Classes guided by the UK Bartenders Guild, to share new cocktails and products. 

The Walk-around Exhibition area, will give visitors the opportunity to get in touch with F&B producers and Consortia of protection, taste the products and network.
