New York warmly welcomed the masterclass dedicated to Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, part of the House of Made in Italy project, organized by the Istituto 100% Italiano in collaboration with Acetaia Giusti on January 22 at the Townhouse of the Columbus Citizens Foundation. The event, reserved for a select group of professionals from the agri-food and hospitality sectors, marked the opening of the 2026 calendar of initiatives that House of Made in Italy will host this year to promote Italian culture in the USA.

The day featured contributions from Acetaia Giusti, the historic vinegar producer founded in 1605, which guided participants through a journey exploring the history, traditions, production techniques, and varieties of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.

The masterclass also included a guided tasting of the different types of product, highlighting their unique characteristics and explaining the details of the aging process in various wooden barrels. It was a valuable opportunity to introduce the international market to the authentic qualities of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and the value of this product.

Participants expressed particular interest in the exploration of technical aspects that are often little known, from the selection of raw materials to the sensory characteristics influenced by aging. This response reflects the growing attention of the U.S. market toward certified Italian products, in a sector where Balsamic Vinegar of Modena represents one of the main denominations internationally and is among the most affected by Italian sounding phenomena.

The New York masterclass thus inaugurates the 2026 program of House of Made in Italy, a journey that will continue to develop through initiatives designed to promote a deeper and more conscious understanding of authentic Made in Italy culture.

House of Made in Italy is a project by I Love Italian Food and the Columbus Citizens Foundation, carried out under the patronage of the Italian Trade Agency and ENIT, with the support of Coldiretti and Filiera Italia.
