There is one playing field where Italy never loses. It needs no stadiums or referees—just a beautifully set table, a glass of wine, and a cuisine capable of telling the story of its regions, traditions, and extraordinary talent. That is exactly what happened on June 28 in New York, when House of Made in Italy, on the occasion of the opening of the Summer Fancy Food Show, became a stage dedicated to the very best of Italian excellence.
While the world was focused on major sporting events, a different kind of match took place in the heart of Manhattan—one that Italy continues to win every day thanks to its ambassadors of taste.
The evening featured two symbolic “National Teams,” each representing the strength and prestige of Made in Italy around the world.
The first was the Italian National Wine Team, created in collaboration with Coldiretti. Eleven iconic labels, representing the very best of Italian winemaking, showcased the richness of Italy’s wine-growing regions and the outstanding quality of a sector that has long been one of the cornerstones of the country’s agri-food industry. These exceptional wines continue to win over consumers and international markets alike.
Joining them on the field was the Italian National Chefs Team of New York, made up of eleven chefs and pastry masters who preserve and promote the authenticity of Italian cuisine every day across North America. Through their passion, expertise, and commitment, they represent Italy far beyond its borders, helping to spread a culinary culture built on quality, identity, and tradition.
Adding even greater prestige to the event was the presence of two-Michelin-starred chef Gennaro Esposito, one of Italy’s most respected ambassadors of fine dining. His participation underscored the importance of a project that successfully brings together institutions, businesses, and some of the leading figures in Italian gastronomy.
The spotlight also shone on the Farmer Chefs (Cuochi Contadini), whose cuisine is deeply rooted in the land, agricultural production, and the enhancement of Italy’s finest ingredients. They embody a model centered on local supply chains, seasonality, and authenticity.
Among the evening’s most celebrated guests was Roberto Caporuscio, a true ambassador of authentic Italian pizza in the United States. He delighted attendees by preparing one artisanal pizza after another, each one a masterpiece of balance, technique, and exceptional ingredients.
Once again, the event reaffirmed the mission of House of Made in Italy: to become a permanent home for Italian excellence in the heart of New York—a place where producers, chefs, institutions, and industry professionals can meet, build relationships, and share the authentic value of Made in Italy with the world.
Because while in sports there are winners and losers, when it comes to food and wine, Italy continues to play its strongest game. And it does so every single day, thanks to those who proudly bring the colors of our country to tables across the globe.
A victory built on talent, passion, and authenticity—the very qualities that have made Made in Italy an internationally recognized champion.
